Child sex man is found guilty

A MAN from the Devizes area has been told he faces a substantial period in prison after being found guilty of sexual offences against children.
The 46-year-old man, who cannot be named by order of the court, was convicted by a jury of seven men and five women at Salisbury Crown Court on Friday of nine of the 11 offences he faced.
He was acquitted on two other charges.
The court heard that the man and his wife had set up an after-school club at a primary school in the area.
Through the club, he had befriended a mother and her daughter and it was with this child, who was eight at the time, that he was alleged to have committed sexual offences.
The court heard he had engaged in sexual activity in front of this child and then involved the girl directly in his sexual gratification.
Police seized the man's computers and found dozens of images of young girls in sexual poses. In one of them, a man is depicted about to have sex with a girl aged eight or nine.
Judge Thomas Longbotham adjourned the case for sentence at Winchester Crown Court on April 7.
