From the The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald, first published Thursday 5th Jan 2006.
SONIA Bush, whose husband Colin is manager of Corsham Town, has appealed for help in finding the culprits who stole her new shoes after she'd kicked them off to dance at a New Year's Eve party.
The Bushes were enjoying a double celebration of the 21st birthday of their son Ryan and the New Year when the shoes vanished.
"It could have been one of my friends playing a prank but I'm sure they would have given them back by now," said Mrs Bush.
"I just think shoes are such a bizarre thing to take. I'd love to know what happened to them."
Mrs Bush, 49, of Bargates in Box, is so determined to get to the bottom of the mystery she has offered to donate £20 to Cancer Research if anyone comes forward with information.
"I don't for a minute think I'll get them back again but that's not the point," she said.
"They're not a particularly expensive pair they're just pretty shoes from Dorothy Perkins.
"Perhaps someone's got a fetish for shoes or feet."
Mrs Bush returned to Corsham Football Club the following day to hunt for her missing shoes to no avail.
"I thought they might have been dumped on the football pitch," she said.
"I'd only taken them off at the end of the night to have one last dance with my husband."
Mr Bush is affectionately known as Nobby and managed Chippenham Town during their FA Vase trip to Wembley.
Anyone with information can call Mrs Bush on (01225) 742649.
