Food on the Run may come to filling station

From the The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald, first published Thursday 5th Jan 2006.

PETROL giant Esso has submitted plans to give the Cepen Park North filling station and forecourt an overhaul.

It wants to redevelop the petrol station, including building a new sales building, car wash, jet wash and forecourt extension.

The new store would be around a third bigger and would incorporate a caf.

A spokesman for Esso said: "We've been developing the concept of Food on the Run for a couple of years now.

"Fifty-five of our stores have now been converted to provide hot drinks and freshly prepared food on the premises and we've got round to doing Chippenham."

If plans get the green light the work will begin in early July and is expected to take three months. The service station will be closed for the entire time.

It is hoped a decision on planning permission will be made by the end of January.
