PAUL Smith is tipping Trevor Benjamin to make a big impact at the County Ground after witnessing his pace and power at first hand.
Town's new signing joined Gillingham on loan a couple of seasons ago, while Smith was at the Priestfield, and the midfielder believes he could prove the final piece in Iffy Onuora's jigsaw.
"He will bring something different to the team," said Smith. "In Peacock and Cureton and now Trevor we have good options up front and that has to be healthy.
"He scored on his debut for Gillingham a couple of season's back against West Ham and hopefully he can have the same impact here."
Ahead of tonight's clash with former teammates Walsall at the County Ground, Smith has highlighted the importance of the clash with four of the next five league games at home against teams in and around them in League One.
He said: "If there was ever a time we needed to start winning, this is it. It may be a cliche but the next few games are all six-pointers.
"Look at Walsall, a few weeks back they were pushing for the play-offs and now after a couple of bad results they are being talked about in terms of relegation.
"It just shows how tight the league is and gives us a great incentive to start picking up the results."
