Well done to BR Logan. I am pleased to read I am not alone in seeing Swindon in its true light. It was originally a Swine town and still lives up to its title.
I also wonder at the mentality of the residents of this ugly monstrosity who rank it as a place to be proud of.
I was born in Devonshire but unfortunately have spent most of my life in this hole. Thank goodness most of my impressionable childhood and teens were spent visiting family in Cheltenham. Now that's a town with class and beauty.
Before someone asks "Why did you stay?" I ask myself that every day but life is not always simple so I had to knuckle down.
Having said this I have many friends, good doctors, plus I belong to organisations, and my children and grandchildren are Swindonians. That, however, does not make Swindon acceptable in my eyes. It is, and always has been, an eyesore.
B HUNT.
