Boot sale boost for charities

CASTLE Combe Racing Circuit has picked eight good causes that will be benefit from a series of giant car boot sales.

The charities will receive up to £1,000 each from bargain hunters who pay 25p to browse the hundreds of stalls at some of the largest car boot sales in the region.

Those to benefit from the fundraising this year will be Yatton Keynell Luncheon Club on March 19; Castle Combe Colts on April 23; the Friends of Luckington School on May 21; Castle Combe Village Hall on June 18; Yatton Keynell Brownies on July 9; the, Friends of Bybrook School on August 20; Sheldon School, Chippenham, PTA on September 10 and Yatton Keynell under-fives toddler group on October 15. The charities apply for support and are chosen in a draw by a committee as part of the circuit's Good Neighbour policy.

The car boot sale is one of the largest of its kind in the south west.

The sales run from 8am-2pm, with sellers' cars charged £8, vans £10 and large vans £25 for a pitch to impress thousands of buyers.
