OVERDEVELOPMENT is turning Corsham into a dump, according to some residents.
On top of recent developments including the 650-home estate in Katherine Park, 32 homes in Westwells and 44 homes in Bradford Road, councillors are now considering a plan to build 24 dwellings in Park Lane.
Doreen Stevenson, who lives in nearby Hatton Way, said: "Corsham has been ravaged by buildings everywhere.
"This application raised its ugly head just before Christmas for 24 homes.
"We haven't got the places in the doctors, dentists or schools. We are completely overdeveloped.
"All our lovely green land, Mr Prescott is allowing to be ravaged.
"I love Corsham, it is a lovely town steeped in history but it is becoming a dump.
"There will be nowhere for the kids to play and we hope the council has the common sense not to allow these homes."
Officers have recommended permission but as North Wiltshire District Council received more than five letters of objection, it will be discussed at a development control meeting on February 1.
The recommendation for permission is providing applicant Tom Sheppard makes a contribution to local schools and the public transport infrastructure.
