Café culture goes Indian

From the Wiltshire Times, first published Friday 27th Jan 2006.

A TASTE of the sub-continent is proving popular in Chippenham with the opening of Caf India.

Mayor John Scragg officially opened the Station Hill restaurant last week. It will trade as a caf during the day and a restaurant in the evenings.

Rabia Choudhury, who is running the venture with her husband Ashraf, said: "We were fully booked over the first weekend, so that was wonderful.

"One customer came back three times in the same week and there is already a review on the internet.

"People have been impressed with the design and the atmosphere and I'm really pleased with the comments about the food."

Mrs Choudhury, who has lived in Chippenham since 1987, said people could pop in for a coffee and a cake from 11am, or have a light lunch, such as chicken tikka salads, tandoori baguettes and wraps.
