Hosts go second

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Tuesday 27th Jan 2004.

CHIPPENHAM'S development squad claimed a 23-20 victory over Bournemouth to take sole possession of second place in the Dorset & Wilts Under 18 Merit Table.

Chippenham had their first points on the board after just three minutes with a try from Andy Flower.

And a penalty kicked by Gareth Wiltshire put them further ahead after 11 minutes.

Bournemouth then hit back with two unconverted tries to give them a 10-8 lead.

But Simon Drage went over to score for the home side, Wiltshire adding the conversion for a 15-10 interval lead.

Again Bournemouth came back and their prop gained his hat-trick the conversion making it 17-15 in their favour.

Wiltshire then added another penalty before quick thinking by scrum-half Danny Burke saw him go over for the score before Bournemouth kicked a late penalty.
